Last Saturday, Dave, Matt and Nick hit Southampton with the ambulance (recently coined "Dougie", though we'll see if that sticks...) for a spot of street collecting. Being new at all this, it took us a while to get in the swing of it - collecting is an art, and could be the basis of a billion uni dissertations. Also, the 6am start didn't help! We soon found our stride however, and later when we were joined by friends Juan, Maria, Squeak, Clare and Lisa we gathered momentum and raised a healthy £276.88 for Douglas House. Thanks so much for helping out guys! A further thanks must again go to Mike Ing at Red Stone graphics for providing us with posters and banners to help make an impact.
The day was also great for thinking of ways in which we could improve our methods and we're looking forward to our further collection days in Cardiff (30th May), Reading (13th June) and Durham (20th June). Let us know if you'd like to help out!
In other news, Advait managed to complete the London marathon in a cracking time in some serious heat, and some guys Dave met on a mechanics course who are also doing the rally managed to get their hands on an ambulance too! Check out their beast here.
