Sisters' Singing Success!!!

Dave's sisters, Zoe and Grace, showed their Christmas spirit when they gathered their musical friends together to sing carols on the high street at home in Beverley, East Yorkshire. Around 20 people turned up to sing at midday on Xmas Eve, when shoppers were out in full force. Previous advertising in the local newspaper meant that plenty of other friends came along to listen too. So good was the singing that Dave's parents and friend Matt (the one looking like a prize wally in the red antlers) were kept very busy explaining about the trip, the charity, and taking in the coins.

The group sang for nearly two hours and raised an astonishing £430.33, which is being donated to the Christina Noble Children's Foundation. This goes a long way towards the £1000 which we will be raising for CNCF as a requirement for taking part in the rally.

The five of us would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who took part and helped out behind the scenes. Apparently the singing was wonderful and it raised a lot of local awareness about our trip. If anyone would like to donate and further money to CNCF, you can do so at www.justgiving.com/thedouglascarcncf.

Thanks to the Adur School Nurse Team

The Adur School Nurse Team have generously decided to email their Christmas Cards this year and donate the money usually spent on cards to Douglas House. Thanks so much!

You can view their donation at our JustGiving page, where it's never been simpler to make a donation.

One step closer...

After writing a couple of hundred letters in search of an ambulance, we may have hit the jackpot! We've been offered a V-reg (1999) Fiat Ambulance Van Conversion. Amazing! We're obviously completely over the moon and astounded by the generosity of our donor, South Central Ambulance Service NHS Trust. When we have more details we'll be updating the vehicle page of our site, and hopefully when we pick the vehicle up in the next few weeks, we can get some photos up here too.

If our ambulance is anything like the one in this photo and we get it to Mongolia in one piece, it will make a huge difference to the hospitals there.

Mongolia here we come!
