Team visit to Douglas House...

As a team, we want to give more meaning to our trip and are serious about raising a heap of money for charity. After much searching and deliberating, we decided to visit Helen and Douglas House in Oxford to see first hand whether they deserved our efforts and support.
After meeting Ruth, the Douglas House fundraiser and having a brief look around, I can safely say that the five of us were bowled over - it's a really great place. Douglas House provides respite and end of life care to young adults and is the 'brother' organisation to Helen House, which provides the same care for children and was the first hospice to be founded in the UK. Its facilities are excellent, but it needs all the help it can get to continue to provide the high level of care it aspires to.
We have decided to do our utmost to use our trip to raise money and awareness for Douglas House in particular, as it is unique in the UK in the way that it provides care for people of our age, people who fall in the gap between child hospices and adult care homes. So, the fundraising starts here - we'll be planning events galore and you'll be seeing us in local newspapers soon. There is plenty to be done, and we'll be needing your help!
