It's spanner time...

Now halfway through my car mechanics evening class, I already feel I could fix an engine with nothing more than a pair of old tights, a rubber band and a clothes peg. Mending a clapped out motor in the vast expanse of the Gobi Desert when we don't have a clothes peg however, may be quite a different matter. And I can see my teammates now, breathing down my neck saying "c'mon Dave, you did the course, now get us out of this mess".

Fun times.

The course has actually been great so far - oil changes, replacing brakes, correct engine maintenance etc doesn't faze me at all now. I've met people from two other teams that will be taking part in the rally with us which will no doubt come in handy when comparing notes over the next few months. If you're interested, the course is run at Hackney Community College
